The Bee Gees (brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb) enjoyed late 1960s to late 1970s fame as a three-part harmony pop trio. The British band is best known for their late 1970s falsetto sound and nicknames “The Disco Kings,” “Britain’s First Family of Harmony,” and “The Kings of Dance Music.” Just a few of their most popular songs include:

Cher

Cher rocketed to music fame in the mid-1960s and returned to it in a big way in the late 1980s, then again in the late 1990s. Starting her career as half of the married duo Sonny & Cher, the “Gypsys, Tramps and Thieves” singer enjoyed acclaim not only on the concert stage, but in film as well, starring in Mask, Mermaids, and Moonstruck. Some of the comeback queen’s most beloved tracks include:

Elton John

Elton John began life as a child piano prodigy and first experienced British success with songwriter collaborator Bernie Taupin in 1968. Known for blending a wide variety of pop and rock styles and being among the first to embrace synthesized instruments, Elton broke into the American market in 1970 and has enjoyed wild stardom ever since. It’s difficult to name just a few of his most well-loved tunes, but some include:

• “Rocket Man” (1972)
• “Sad Songs” (1984)
• “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” (1994)
